I started another project last night. Bought some cotton at Fred Meyer for a gift that shall become known later...shh it's a secret. But it will be similar to another project I've already completed. The socks are done. The photos are uploaded to the internet, but not posted anywhere yet. The cute lacy shirt is waiting for needles to arrive (hopefully before this weekend?!). The lacy scarf is going to wait for this other project to finish, I think. I also have to decide if I want to go back and fix the yo I missed. Darn it. I'm hoping we can do the Wednesday night knitting group that has been happening the last couple weeks near my apartment, also.
We also played a new game last night! Well...new to me. Oh - yeah, I'm not sure I've mentioned it before...but we're big gamers. Board gamers. And...I'm not talking Monopoly or Scrabble. Last night the game was Small World. It was fun! I lost. That just means we need to play again ;-) Oh - also - this is the true reason that we are looking for a place to buy. We have SO MANY games, there's not enough shelves to put them on. Yeah. It's bad (or good?). In fact, the owner and staff at the local game store know my husband by name.
Happy thought for the day: The local Farmer's Market opens tomorrow!!! Sure, there won't be a ton of produce yet, but it's always fun anyway! Don't forget to check yours out!!!
Hope it's sunnier where you are! As my dad put it yesterday - he had to turn his windshield wipers on high to keep the fish off because it was raining so hard...

What's New?!
This week Wednesday I met with 4 other gals in the area for some knitting at the Urban Coffee Lounge. It's weird for me to be the instigator of something like this...but hey! It seems to be working out pretty well.
Project updates...the Delphine lacy tank that I've started on is going well I think. I have finished the first section (only 2.25in or so). I have a lifeline in it and tonight if I have time I'll take it off the needles to make sure it fits before I start the next section.
The Hedera sock that I started will have to be ripped out - it's too small & the cuff doesn't fit over my heel.
Next project to start: the Windemere scarf.
For the Delphine and the scarf I am short needles. I put in an order this morning from Knitpicks for the circulars I need. I think I'll run to a yarn shop for some straights to start the scarf on while I wait. We'll see :-)

Very Short Weekend
I also cast on for the Delphine from French Girl Knits with Just Soya in a dark pinkish color. I am modifying it a bit...not sure of the (final) details yet, but I have big hips, and want it to be longish. I cast on for the largest size, and adjusted the lace repeats w/ the intent of doing 2 rounds of decreases to get it to the medium size (basically doing p3s instead of p2s). However, I'm a bit off on the gauge, so may have to readjust.
I also bought a skein of Alpaca with a Twist Fino to make a Windemere Scarf for a gift.
Happy Monday!

Trying it Again...
The latest with me:
Photos - I haven't been taking enough!
Food - I still love to cook! This week we made these Chicken Lettuce Wraps with Sweet and Spicy Sauce.
Other thoughts - We're working on buying a townhouse!
And I added crafting to the title of the blog...Lately the crafting has been knitting :-) I have a ravelry account to keep track of my knitting projects. (Unfortunately you have to have an account to look at it...sorry about that. Will try to duplicate info to some extent).
More to come!

Bummer news from last night: our new DVD player won't play my Pride & Prejudice dvd :-(

Another Tuesday
Yesterday was not a good day. I think mostly because I was (still am) very tired from this weekend. It did end well, with some time w/ hub. and some cheesecake pudding with graham crackers.
Food today: B: Banana over Good Friends, milk; L: 3 corn tortillas, leftover rice & beans; Sn: Banana, Pretzels; D: grilled pizza
I got some latvah? bread - flatbread anyway, from trader joes to try for the grilled pizza tonight - they only had onion pitas. Will use the rest of the canadian bacon from last week, pineapple, mushrooms, etc. the bread is 120 cal for 1/2 of it (which is huge...) It's thinner than a pita, so will have to be careful not to burn it :-)
I played a softball game last night. We lost - they hit probably 10-15 grounders right up the middle. Our pitcher has bad knees so they get past him pretty easy (great pitcher though!). I have no excuse, on the other hand. Played a short left center/rover, then 2nd base. Missed probably 8 of them. They beat us off of singles. :-) Oh well, we had fun.
I like Clairelaine's painting of the day thing - I'm going to add photos sometimes. This one is from last June, at Cape Lookout State Park, near Tillamook, OR.
Today I'm going to step class. Hopefully the normal teacher is back this week. I got a new pair of workout shorts this weekend - don't usually wear shorts, but like to have 1 pair. Maybe I'll check them out tonight. They are from the Columbia employee store - mountain hardware. I love shopping there - quality stuff for a LOT less money. :-)
Guess that's about it for now. Have a great Tuesday!

Been a while again...
What a weekend. Drove down to Portland Friday am, made it in good time - 4hrs almost exactly.
Friday activities: went to the Columbia Sportswear employee store, as is customary when we visit. Ahh the discount - 50-60% off is awesome! Dinner w/ my parents also included some friends from down there. Also met w/ our financial advisor.
Friday food: b: cereal probably w/ fruit (don't remember); l: half a reuben sandwich, fruit plate (1 banana, few strawberries, bit of cantelope, watermelon); d: really good german sausage (made in Portland by Zenner's Sausage Co), with some baked beans, pasta salad, fruit and chips, followed by dessert of strawberry-blueberry-rhubarb crisp (stuff from parent's yard) and vanilla ice cream.
Saturday activities: Took husband to a friends house (people we had dinner w/ Fri) to play D&D all weekend. Stopped at my favorite coffee shop, Insomnia Coffee Co, but have given up coffee for a bit - ended up w/ a racing heart last week, decided I'd had enough caffeine for a while... Got jasmine tea. My FAVORITE tea right now. As long as I can support them, it's good. Then my parents and I went to my grandparents for lunch - hadn't seen them for a while, so that was really good. Then went sailing for a couple hours on my parents Thistle. It's a very active sail, and we were on the Wilamette, which is a very...blustery sail. One of my friends came down after she got off work and we took her out for about half an hour also. She and I grabbed some burgers afterward, then I went back home w/ my parents.
Sat. Food: B: multigrain cheerios w/ a ton of freshly picked blueberries, 2 slices of pumpkin bread; L: a responsible sized piece of salmon, grandma's coleslaw, too much pumpkin bread and cookies; D: heart attack on a bun - Burger I got was a 1/2lb (locally raised/grassfed beef) burger, complege w/ canadian bacon and bacon bacon, bbq sauce and cheese. YUM. I cut it in half and actually only ate half! Ate all the fries. Had more crisp w/ ice cream when we got home.
Sunday Activities: Church, Krispy Kreme, Lunch, Bike Shopping, relaxing, train ride home.
Sunday Food: B: Same as Sat, no bread. :-); S: Apple fritter, 1/2 a strawberry milk at krispy kreme; L: 1 egg (steamed - kinda poached) 3 blueberry pancakes w/ syrup, ice lychee tea (grandpa's favorite...); snack: wheat thins, grapes, 8oz mojito; d: roast beef sandwich, string cheese, too many kettle chips, and a cookie I shouldn't have eatten.
All in all, it was a great weekend. The bike shopping was good - I think I'm definitely ready to try riding some now, and hopefully buy one in the next few weeks.
Softball game tonight at 8:45. Trying to decide if i want to work out before that...maybe bike ride?
Food for today: Breakfast: Good friends mixed w/ a bit of GoLean Crunch, bunch of blueberries, milk. Lunch: leftover Spanish rice w/ black beans, two corn tortillas, pretzels, snap peas. Dinner: mac & cheese from a box (um...we definitely have no food in the house...), possibly some hotdogs in the m&c.
Ok...enough :-) Have a great Monday!
