Another Tuesday

Yesterday was not a good day.  I think mostly because I was (still am) very tired from this weekend.  It did end well, with some time w/ hub. and some cheesecake pudding with graham crackers.

Food today: B: Banana over Good Friends, milk; L: 3 corn tortillas, leftover rice & beans; Sn: Banana, Pretzels; D: grilled pizza

I got some latvah? bread - flatbread anyway, from trader joes to try for the grilled pizza tonight - they only had onion pitas.  Will use the rest of the canadian bacon from last week, pineapple, mushrooms, etc.  the bread is 120 cal for 1/2 of it (which is huge...)  It's thinner than a pita, so will have to be careful not to burn it :-)

I played a softball game last night.  We lost - they hit probably 10-15 grounders right up the middle.  Our pitcher has bad knees so they get past him pretty easy (great pitcher though!).  I have no excuse, on the other hand.  Played a short left center/rover, then 2nd base.  Missed probably 8 of them.  They beat us off of singles.  :-)  Oh well, we had fun.

I like Clairelaine's painting of the day thing - I'm going to add photos sometimes.  This one is from last June, at Cape Lookout State Park, near Tillamook, OR.

Today I'm going to step class.  Hopefully the normal teacher is back this week.  I got a new pair of workout shorts this weekend - don't usually wear shorts, but like to have 1 pair.  Maybe I'll check them out tonight.  They are from the Columbia employee store - mountain hardware.  I love shopping there - quality stuff for a LOT less money. :-)

Guess that's about it for now.  Have a great Tuesday!

Been a while again...

Ok, so I nearly daily post on a website called Calorie Count, so I decided that I'm just going to copy it over to this as well, and see if anyone picks up on it. It will be a bit heavy on the what I ate stuff. Will try to get back into including recipes, maybe photos. Post from today...

What a weekend. Drove down to Portland Friday am, made it in good time - 4hrs almost exactly.

Friday activities: went to the Columbia Sportswear employee store, as is customary when we visit. Ahh the discount - 50-60% off is awesome! Dinner w/ my parents also included some friends from down there. Also met w/ our financial advisor.

Friday food: b: cereal probably w/ fruit (don't remember); l: half a reuben sandwich, fruit plate (1 banana, few strawberries, bit of cantelope, watermelon); d: really good german sausage (made in Portland by Zenner's Sausage Co), with some baked beans, pasta salad, fruit and chips, followed by dessert of strawberry-blueberry-rhubarb crisp (stuff from parent's yard) and vanilla ice cream.

Saturday activities: Took husband to a friends house (people we had dinner w/ Fri) to play D&D all weekend. Stopped at my favorite coffee shop, Insomnia Coffee Co, but have given up coffee for a bit - ended up w/ a racing heart last week, decided I'd had enough caffeine for a while... Got jasmine tea. My FAVORITE tea right now. As long as I can support them, it's good. Then my parents and I went to my grandparents for lunch - hadn't seen them for a while, so that was really good. Then went sailing for a couple hours on my parents Thistle. It's a very active sail, and we were on the Wilamette, which is a very...blustery sail. One of my friends came down after she got off work and we took her out for about half an hour also. She and I grabbed some burgers afterward, then I went back home w/ my parents.

Sat. Food: B: multigrain cheerios w/ a ton of freshly picked blueberries, 2 slices of pumpkin bread; L: a responsible sized piece of salmon, grandma's coleslaw, too much pumpkin bread and cookies; D: heart attack on a bun - Burger I got was a 1/2lb (locally raised/grassfed beef) burger, complege w/ canadian bacon and bacon bacon, bbq sauce and cheese. YUM. I cut it in half and actually only ate half! Ate all the fries. Had more crisp w/ ice cream when we got home.

Sunday Activities: Church, Krispy Kreme, Lunch, Bike Shopping, relaxing, train ride home.

Sunday Food: B: Same as Sat, no bread. :-); S: Apple fritter, 1/2 a strawberry milk at krispy kreme; L: 1 egg (steamed - kinda poached) 3 blueberry pancakes w/ syrup, ice lychee tea (grandpa's favorite...); snack: wheat thins, grapes, 8oz mojito; d: roast beef sandwich, string cheese, too many kettle chips, and a cookie I shouldn't have eatten.

All in all, it was a great weekend. The bike shopping was good - I think I'm definitely ready to try riding some now, and hopefully buy one in the next few weeks.

Softball game tonight at 8:45. Trying to decide if i want to work out before that...maybe bike ride?

Food for today: Breakfast: Good friends mixed w/ a bit of GoLean Crunch, bunch of blueberries, milk. Lunch: leftover Spanish rice w/ black beans, two corn tortillas, pretzels, snap peas. Dinner: mac & cheese from a box (um...we definitely have no food in the house...), possibly some hotdogs in the m&c.

Ok...enough :-) Have a great Monday!

So much stuff...

The last few weeks have been pretty busy. We went up to SPU for my sister's graduation the 2nd week of June. I took lots of photos, but haven't finished going through them yet to decide which to post, etc. We also got to see Anne in The Seven Keys of Baldpate at Taproot, which was awesome (as usual)!

Last weekend we hung around home and spent Father's Day with my family, which was a lot of fun.

This weekend we went camping with 3 other couples from our small group at Cape Lookout, near Tillamook. We had a lot of fun just hanging out & talking. We were lucky and got a whole afternoon of sunshine on Saturday. We went to the cheese factory, and then spent the rest of the afternoon on the beach playing around. Had a great bbq followed by yummy banana boats (smores in a banana instead of a graham cracker!) and smores. Saturday night it poured. We stayed mostly dry, cept for a few things left outside, but didn't get much sleep. Rain on a tent is surprisingly loud! All in all...we can't wait to go camping again!

Here's some photos from the camping trip.

We're going up to Seattle this weekend - for a wedding reception and to apartment hunt.

Have a great week. And if you're reading this...let me know & we'll go out for coffee. Ha.

It's been a month...

Sad! I like writing stuff. But, I don't ever think anyone's reading it so I'm not too bent on keeping it updated I guess. Yesterday we hiked Dog Mountain. It was rough. Beautiful though! Here's a slideshow of the photos I took. (Yay Picasa!!!)

The trail is steep, with about a 3600ft elevation gain in a little under 4 miles. And then steep going back down too...of course :-) We did the 'less difficult' trail. Apparently the more difficult trail you use your hands a lot to grip the trail, it's so steep (according to a guy at work...) I am thankful for my friend Sara who suggested I get a camelbak to go inside my backpack. We went to REI, where a great salesperson helped me pick out what I needed. I ended up getting a 3Liter reservoir (the max my daypack can take), because it was the same price as the 2liter, and we decided I could just not fill it up all the way. Well, I ended up filling it all the way, and taking 2 waterbottles, one of which we left in the car. So, Adam and I had 4 liters of water between the 2 of us for the hike. Glad I filled it up. We ran out about 30min from the bottom on the way back. And that was after my mom gave Adam another 1/2 bottle from her water, and we shared her last 1/2 bottle between the 3 of us. So...we were glad we had that extra bottle in the car. :-)

We ate at the Charburger on the way back. Yum as usual. Had coconut cream pie with my burger :-)

In other goings on...well...there's not a whole lot :-) Work, sleep, play. We've been gearing up to play some disc golf - got a driver and a putter for both of us - there's a 9-holecourse about 3 blocks away from our apartment!

The pottery continues, Adam's class at PSU is almost done (boy will he be happy!), and my sister graduates from SPU next weekend.

That's enough for now. Happy Monday :-)

Lots of Bowls...

Taking pottery for the last 3 years has left me with an awful lot of pots and bowls sitting in a box in my closet. Why don't I use them, huh? Well...the box in the closet are the ones that are not so functional, or that I don't want to display. Most of them are from the first couple classes I took, and I would rather make something new for people than give them the leftovers that aren't as nice. Cause now I can make nicer looking, lighter, more useful stuff! My new plan is to try to make things that are either specifically for someone, or will be useful to us personally. Cause otherwise, we will be taken over! However, the stuff in the box isn't that bad either... I take pottery at the local cultural arts center - come join me sometime :-)

Yesterday I brought 4 larger bowls home - 2 big ones and 2 that fit inside them. I would like to start taking pictures of stuff when I get it back to keep in my pottery journal. So far, I've been using the journal to keep track of glaze combinations. Since I've written them down, it seems like it'd be nice to have a photo of how they turned out.

Ok, enough rambling for now. Oh, except to mention a new coffee shop near us. If you're in the Hillsboro area, check out Insomnia Coffee Co, on the corner of Baseline & 53rd Ave. (coffeeandmusicinhillsboro.blogspot.com & www.myspace.com/insomniacoffee)

Numero Uno

I thought I'd check this out, and see how it works with picasa. I'll have to check that part out later though. I'm not sure I like the title of the blog...seems kinda mundane. But I'm not creative, so there you go.

I like the colors and stuff though :-)
